Located close to the South Coast in Sompting, West Sussex, we are
a husband and wife team.|
We formed the Robert James Studio in 1997.

Sculptor and artist, working with clay since 1994, with the background
of working as a professional portrait artist since 1980.
- From 1999 to 2017, I provided private tuition in ceramic sculpture,
modelling and hand-building; also in drawing and painting.

Originally worked in a supporting role as technician, glaze chemist
Subsequently developed wheel-throwing skills, producing both functional
and ornamental/decorative studio pottery in stoneware and porcelain.
I continue to develop and produce all of the glazes used in our studio.
